Susan E. Bauernfeind Wellness Center Access: 2026 Guidelines & 2027 Expansion

Looking Ahead: Expanded Access for 2027

Beginning in 2027, Racer Wellness and Human Resources are expanding Wellness Center access to all full-time and part-time regular employees.

Flexible Enrollment:
Faculty and staff can opt into Wellness Center access during Open Enrollment even if they are
not enrolled in a university health plan or the Racer Wellness Pledge.

Cost & Tax Details:
The membership is free but this remains a taxable employee benefit. 

Requirement: 
Participants must complete a set number of annual visits to maintain access.

2027 enrollment details and visit requirements will be available during Open Enrollment.

Current 2026 Rules & Requirements

For the remainder of 2026, Wellness Center access without a membership fee is tied directly to the 2026 Racer Wellness Pledge.

Eligibility & Cost
Must be an active Racer Wellness Pledge participant.

The Wellness Center membership fee is fully paid by Racer Wellness but is a taxable benefit.

2026 Visit Requirements
To maintain your access, you must meet the following visit thresholds during active periods:

  • Jan 1 – May 31: 30 visits (Reduced from 40 visits for Spring 2026 due to an extended maintenance closure in May)
  • Aug 1 – Sep 30: 15 visits

June and July are not included in the Racer Wellness access to the Wellness Center. A membership can be purchased by the employee through the Wellness Center.
